I read バイリンガル教育の方法. The book was about the education for bilingual.

The topic was very interesting for me since I’ve been interested in linguistics, and I’ll relocate to the US soon. Hopefully, we’d like to get children. Then, this kind of problems will be for us.

According to the book, the process to learn a language in a child can separate a couple of phases. Age 0-5 helps to learn mother (base) language, 2-8 is getting a base skill for conversations, 4 – 9 is writing and reading something. It is after 10 that the kill to understand by reading and the skill to write something. Abstract something and more advanced terms etc as well.

The most important part is getting a base language. In my case, it is Japanese. But for my baby (if I can get), it will be Japanese or English. It depends on the growing environment. Once they get the base one, they can grow and learn many things. If they fail to get the base one, they will probably face some difficulties in conversations.

I felt many things in the book, but I’d like to remain in my brain for now.
